Jamie Martin Ed.S. LPC
Education and Training:
I hold both a Master’s and an Educational Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University, awarded in May 2015. Since then, I’ve pursued extensive post-graduate training in evidence-based treatments. In June 2015, I completed intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training with Linehan-trained clinicians—the approach’s original developer, Dr. Marsha Linehan, being foundational to my clinical orientation. That same year, I also completed specialized training in DBT for adolescents and families.
From 2016 to 2017, I received intensive training in Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) directly from its developer, Dr. Thomas Lynch. I’ve since become an approved RO-DBT trainer and currently serve on the RO-DBT senior clinician team under Dr. Lynch’s leadership.
Additionally, I was trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD by The Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania, and in January 2025, I completed training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) through the institute founded by its developer, Laney Rosenz.
What do I work best with:
I’m especially passionate about working with individuals who struggle with perfectionism and the pressures of being a high performer. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping people cultivate meaningful friendships and build a sense of community. I often see how loneliness and disconnection impact people’s well-being, and I find it deeply rewarding to support clients in creating the relationships they’ve been longing for.
A little about me:
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my dogs. I have a deep love for behavioral training—so much so that I’ve taught my dogs over a hundred words and behaviors and became a certified trick dog trainer. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind (or even enjoys) a good dog metaphor now and then, we’ll probably get along well.
